Because my father fought in Italy, in WW II, and because I have visited the Florence American cemetery (same as this one, but for the northern campaigns), I am touched by the efforts of these university students shown here. To those not moved, I wonder how you process suffering? Imagine the troops in this, the longest ground campaign by the Western Allies in the war, suffering through mountain and winter warfare against professional troops in superior positions. Rain, mud, hunger, loneliness, death, injury. These cemeteries are places of honor and beauty, and it shouldn’t escape us that these are youth honoring the youth of the past – the soldiers who fought were contemporary in age to these students. The double statue shows the message of youth. God bless.

The Germans were already on the decline when America joined in.
They were cut away from too many resources, spread too thin, and the Russians had number superiority, Britain the air.
In any case; life is short and death is certain.

Because they don’t think anything good should ever be shown. They like divisiveness and hate. It’s all people like Jeremy & Charlie know. Not to mention they’d never bother to look anything up on their own to prove or disprove anything.

As a veteran, I am happy for these children.
